It will also give you the opportunity to find out the ethnic origin and meaning of names that you are considering. Another option is to take a trip to your local bookshop. Pick up one of the baby naming books to help you with your process.

Deciding on how many names

Making the decision about how many names to give the baby can also have an affect on what you choose. If you find the perfect first name to go with your surname, you have to decide whether you want to add one or more middle names if you add any at all. Take into consideration once you get more than one initial you can start spelling words. Having initials that spell a rude word or refer to something else unfortunate may not be exactly what your baby will appreciate in the years to come. This could be especially prevalent at school. Keep in mind that other children can be cruel.

Once you find out a new little person is going to enter your life, friends and family will probably give you their advice and opinions on what names they think you should call the baby. However, it is only your opinion that counts. Remember a name can define a person and reflect their personality.
